Beautifully drafted review by Mr. Rajib Kumar Jena - Vise President Bajaj Auto Limited on the talk given by one of our directors Amit Inamdar about Human Centered Innovation t LinkedIn Local Pune Event organized at MIT World Peace University.
He summarized Amit's talk and the learning from it:
One can design in two ways
1. In linear way, straight forward giving the functionality as per the basic brief
2. In very non linear way, but Human Centered way
And the second method has more objectives, purposefulness and focused approach than the previous one
In human centered method, the user , the target 🎯 segment takes the center stage
You understand, design and then make an impact
The innovation is both creative and impacting. It is not necessarily earth shattering. It is not necessarily technology oriented.
It is basically based on empathy, compassion and human experience
We learnt this from Mr. Amit Inamdar in yesterday’s hashtag#linkedinlocalpune event at hashtag#mitworldpeaceuniversity
His story of design for Humanity through his startup hashtag#plusone was exceptional
He utilized non degradable flash materials scraps to create school bags 💼 for young pretty souls in the bottom of the pyramid
The steps he taught are
1. Observing with conscience and consciousness
2. Understanding the pain empathetically
3. Being immersive with the issues one wants to solve
4. Forming an idea as a solution
5. Validating the solution with the user
6. Showcasing the prototype
7. Iterating the design and prototype
8. Taking to the market
9. Spreading the stories
10. Driving the adoption
